"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: MY SUPPORT/DONATION

I am Mrs. Rebecca Afia, a sick widow writing from a hospital bed.
I have a donation fund in the amount of $8,000,000.00 which I
want to donate through your help to charitable foundations,
schools, churches, widows, downtrodden, abused children, orphans,
homeless, frail elderly, victims of natural disaster, the needy
and less privileged in your City.

As soon as I receive your reply , I will provide all relevant
information that will authorize the release and transfer of the
money to you as my duly appointed representative.

Finally, I would like to know what you do for a living to enable
me to know if your work would allow you to diligently handle this
project to the glory of God and the benefit of the less
privileged and needy in your City.

Please assure me that you will follow what I have described here.
Hoping to get an answer soon,

Yours faithfully,

Rebecca Afia
