"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: URGENT REQUEST

Greetings to you,

I trust this email finds you well.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Widad Babiker Omer, and I am the wife of former Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir. Presently, he is undergoing trial and is being held at a military hospital in Khartoum following a tumultuous event that occurred when clashes erupted between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), leading to chaos in the prison where he was detained.

I apologize if my email comes as a surprise, as we have not corresponded previously. However, I am reaching out to you in search of either a corporation or an individual in your country who could provide assistance for potential investments. Given the instability and risks associated with the Sudanese economy due to the ongoing civil war, it is advisable for investors to seek opportunities elsewhere, which prompts my communication with you.

My intention is to relocate both my children and my business interests to your country, considering the unpredictable nature of the current crisis in Sudan. I am seeking your partnership and guidance in exploring viable sectors for investment. Your input and assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I eagerly await your response.

Warm Regards,
Widad Babikar Omer
