"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Royal bank among others.

Your Email address attached to ticket number: 00987 drew the
lucky winning numbers, 6-15-2-37-19-43-21 and have consequently
won the lottery in the 4th category. You have therefore been
approved for a lump sum pay out of US$550,000.00 [Five Hundred
and Fifty Thousand United States Dollars] Credited to file NO:
LDL/2556003-22AS. The participating active email addresses were
auto generated from the world wide web and entered into the draw.

Note that your winning has been zoned to North America (Toronto-
Canada) for processing. You are therefore advised to contact your
claims Agent via the details below for further info and due
processing and remittance of your prize which comes at no cost to
you. Be sure to quote your ticket and file numbers in your
communication.
