"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

An email address listed inside this email has been used in a known fraud before.
This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.
The following phrases in this message should put you on alert:
- "hundred thousand united states dollars" (they want you to be blinded by the prospect of quick money, but the only money that ever changes hands in 419 scams is from you to the criminals)
- "power of attorney" (with your bank details and a power of attorney form criminals sometimes empty bank accounts)

Barristers (lawyers) mentioned in 419 scams are always fake.
This email lists free webmail addresses. Use of such addresses is typical for scams. Lotteries, banks and any but the smallest of companies do not normally use such addresses. Criminals use them to anonymously send and receive email at Internet cafes.

Attention Dear,

Your Email has been received and acknowledged. However, We have had several series of meetings with the World Health Organization and the US Department of Treasury over the past few months which ended appropriately in accordance with this payout mission that eases the Board of Directors of the Foreign Payment Sector in the United States over payment. In reports, there have been thousands of allocated abandoned funds and treasury under the control of the United States Treasury & World Bank respectively.

Furthermore, as you have been previously informed that 'all' beneficiaries around the World whose Stimulus Payment, Lottery/Contract, Compensation & Inheritance Payment From 2020 - 2023 Records across Europe & America respectively, fund has been denied, delayed or abandoned the virus outbreak and several other reasons.
This email is to all the beneficiaries, business owners whose Name, Email & Details has been listed amongst the others that have been denied their funds that consist of the above mentioned unpaid group in any part of the world, the UNITED NATIONS in collaboration with the The World Health Organization has agreed to compensate and recover these funds. This includes every foreign contractor that may not have received their contract sum, and people that have had an unfinished transaction or international businesses that failed due to governmental problems and the virus outbreak.
Apparently, the UN is not in charge of carrying out these transfers but we shall refer you to the appropriate paying Bank who shall authorize your transaction before it can be carried out to your designated Bank account respectively and choice respectively.
