"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Ref: Partnership for POD - Insurance Policy Claim

Warm Greetings

I hope this correspondence finds you in good health and high spirits. Allow me to introduce myself as John Poyer, a Senior Litigation Lawyer and the Group Managing Partner (GMP) at Giannasca & Shook, PLLC. I am a distinguished member of the Law Society of Ontario, specializing in Wills & Estates Trustee Planning. My professional expertise encompasses a range of areas, including Wills & Estate Trusts, Powers of Attorney for Personal Care and Property, Protecting Vulnerable Persons, Estate Administration, and Litigation involving Will challenges, passing of accounts, objections thereto, entitlement of common-law spouses, constructive trust claims, and dependent support.

With utmost confidentiality as the cornerstone of our partnership, I invite you to consider engaging in a significant endeavor related to an unclaimed "permanent life insurance policy (Segregated Funds)." This policy, insured for a substantial high-net-worth amount, is held by one of our valued clients who shares your last name.

The policyholder was employed by a prominent company in Toronto, Canada, and unfortunately, passed away in Montreal, Quebec, several years ago. Despite our best efforts, we have been unable to locate any rightful beneficiaries or relatives during this time. As per the insurance company's regulations, unclaimed permanent policies must be transferred to the abandoned property division of the state after a period of seven years.

In light of these circumstances, I respectfully seek your consent to join me in a partnership to claim the benefits of this policy. Given the shared last name between yourself and the deceased, your inclusion as a beneficiary will facilitate the seamless processing of all proceeds. It is important to note that my intention is for 15% of the funds to be allocated to charitable organizations, while the remaining 85% will be equitably divided between us. I assure you that this endeavor carries no financial risk, and I possess all the requisite documentation to expedite the process with the utmost professionalism and confidentiality. Rest assured, I will provide all necessary supporting documents to substantiate your claim as the rightful beneficiary. It is important to emphasize that this claim requires a high level of confidentiality, and we anticipate a processing timeline of up to thirty (30) business days from the date of your consent.

I kindly request your earliest response to this matter, and I propose initiating a telephone conversation to further discuss the intricacies of this opportunity. Please let me know a suitable time for such a discussion.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this request. Your participation in this partnership would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

John Poyser
