"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam
The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.
Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.
Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:
- An email address listed inside this email has been used in a known fraud before.
- This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.
- This email message is a 419 scam. Please see our 419 FAQ for more details on such scams.
- This email lists free webmail addresses. Use of such addresses is typical for scams. Lotteries, banks and any but the smallest of companies do not normally use such addresses. Criminals use them to anonymously send and receive email at Internet cafes.

Hello Dear,
How are you doing today? I hope all is well with you. I previously
sent you an email but no response from you. I don’t really know how to
start; I’m actually from Ukraine, my late father asked me to leave
Ukraine 10 days before the war started.
My name is Daniela Aksamit, I am currently in Northern Ireland
processing my traveling documents to relocate to a potential place for
a better future. Unfortunately my father was killed in Kherson during
the invasion by Russia after 15 days of my departure but I was
privileged to secure his fortune, which he disclosed where it was kept
while he was alive for safety purposes.
It was his life savings as a Grain grower and was kept as my
inheritance before the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Fortunately; My
late father's South African friend who works with the Red Cross
Society was among the evacuation team to evacuate Africans from
Ukraine helped me lift the fortune out of Ukraine and deposited it
with a firm for further claims.
I have been trying to get in touch with the South African Red Cross
Society official for the past few months but all to no avail. The
reason why I am seeking your assistance and consent is to entrust the
inheritance in your care so you can help contact the company for the
release.
I can't do anything on my own right now or own a bank account and my
country is on fire at the moment but I was very lucky the Red Cross
Society official provided me with the documents and the company's
information before we lost communication.
Based on your acceptance, we will communicate and after reaching an
agreement then I will make a formal introduction between you and the
company then send you the company's information to enable you
communicate with the company officially as my late father's foreign
business partner so they will set modalities on how it can be
transferred to you after which we shall discuss on my personal meeting
with you on the way forward regarding my stay, investment plans and
helping the war refugee victims.
