"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend,

My name is Mr.John Sawe I am contacting you to assist me in the transfer of
(US$120.Million,) into your personal bank account for our benefit, this
transaction is confidential and we MUST remain fiducially in all our
dealings since I can not execute this opportunity alone without the support
of a foreigner. This is in line with the Laws governing my Bank and that is
why i have contacted you in this manner.

For your role in assisting me actualize this opportunity, you will be
entitled to 30% of the total sum while 70% will be for me. However, what I
need is your maximum cooperation and to provide a valid bank account where
my bank will transfer this fund for our benefit. By indicating your
interest on assurance of trust I will send you the full details and how
this business will be executed and your urgent response to this proposal
will be highly appreciated.
