"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

*Hi,*

*I believe my mail meets you well. I am Mr. Amos RAOUL, a 17 year old boy.
The only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Quassi RAOUL, from Ivory Coast, in
the West Africa region. My late father was into Agriculture, Gold and
Diamond Merchant based here in my country before his untimely death with my
late mother because of his wealth. Please, I am seeking your kind
assistance to help me claim and receive the total sum of $8,000,000 usd
(eight million US dollars) with some other valuable goods and items that
were inside a consignment box.*

*My late father deposited them with one Security and Finance Company here
in my country with my own name, Amos RAOUL, as the depositor, for
safekeeping. Without writing anybody's name as the beneficiary, who has the
power and authority to claim the box on my behalf as my guardian. I am
willing to offer you 20% of the total money as a mode of compensation to
you for your time and effort to help me out of my problem as an orphan. The
documents that prove the consignment box are intact with me. I am waiting
to hear from you for more details. God bless you as you accept to help me
as an orphan without nobody here to help me.*

*Your son,*

*Amos,*
