"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Hello rightful beneficiary, my name is Mr.Scotch Adams,as the
Deputy Secretary of the Treasury.
Your e-mail has been picked and approved among '100 selected' lucky
individuals awarded by the United States Federal Government to receive 'Extra Emergency Funds'
please kindly and quickly contact me back with your correct
information as the rightful beneficiary for more instructions.

An Emergency Fund is a readily available source of assets to help
people navigate financial dilemmas, such as the loss of a job, a
debilitating illness, a major repair to home or car—not to mention the
kind of major national crisis the coronavirus pandemic has created.
The available amount for you is, $10.500,000.00 (Ten Million, Five
Hundred Thousand United States Dollars)

The purpose of the fund is to improve financial security by creating a
safety net of cash or other highly liquid assets that can be used to
meet emergency expenses. It also reduces the need to either draw from
high-interest debt options—such as credit cards or unsecured loans—or
undermine your future security by tapping retirement funds.
