"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Customer,

I am Mike L. Barber chief logistics and processing officer of United
States Postal Service (USPS) We have been waiting for you to contact
us for your parcel that was been registered with us for shipment to
your residential address. We thought that the sender gave you our
contact details. It maybe interest you to know that a letter is also
added to your parcel. However, we cannot quote the content to you via
email for privacy reasons. We understand that the content of your
parcel itself is a money order worth of $500.000.00 US Dollars),
$1,000.00 US Dollars for each money order copy all in the envelope,
email urgently with your Information, home address and your currently
cell phone.

Bear it in mind that you have to pay $50.00 for Insurance and delivery
charges of the money orders to your address over night delivery.
