"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Before the death of my late husband and my son after we moved into our
dream home in 2014 in Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, my husband had a
savings of $8.5m deposited in an Escrow Fixed Deposit into a bank account
which he planned to set up a factory. Since he is late I do not have any
need for the money hence I will like you to claim the fund and use part of
it for your personal need, part of it for orphanage.

After the death of my late husband and son, I have not been physically,
emotionally, psychologically and mentally okay. I cannot claim the fund
because my condition is very bad. Please if you are interested in this
proposal and you are ready to claim the money, send me the following
details below.

Your full names:

Your Phone Number:

Your Address:

Your Occupation and Position in the office

Your Marital Statues

The name of your next of kin

Your ID for identification

As soon as you respond with the above requirements, I will tell you how we
will proceed with the transfer.
