"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Re: Regards

Hello,

My name is Dr. Julius Patterson, I`m a Medical Doctor working with Damascus
Metropolitan hospital Syria, but under the United Nations Peacekeeping
Mission.

Apologies if my letter came to you as a surprise, since there has not been
any previous correspondence between us. Please may I indulge your audience
over a transaction which I call “A LIFE CHANGING DEAL" Some months ago, I
struck a deal with a hospital in London, United Kingdom. The supposed deal
was about some medical equipment which was to be brought to us here in
Syria, which I diverted to a different hospital because we already have
enough facilities in use. According to my agreement with the receiving
hospital, a total of Nine Million Four Hundred And Fifty Five Thousand
United States Dollars only (US$9,455,000.00), will be paid upon a
successful arrival of the equipment.

Finally as God may have it, the items were successfully dispatched and they
had cleared them from the port and all were in perfect condition. Now it’s
about my payment which is due. Because of the nature of my work as a Salary
earner under the UN, I'm not supposed to receive such an amount in my
account because it will raise an eyebrow due to my position.

Therefore, I ask for your consent to be in partnership with me and you will
receive the money in your account on my behalf and I need your total trust
and honesty. I propose the sharing of the proceeds as follows, 50% for me,
40% for you and 10% to charity organizations.

This transaction is 100% risk free and requires a high level of
confidentiality. Please kindly get back to me for more details if you are
interested. Your earliest response to this matter would be highly
appreciated.

Regards,

Dr. Julius Patterson.
