"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: BUSINESS DEAL

Greetings, my name is Barrister David Richard, a solicitor here in the UK. I know this is unprecedented, but I believe there is an opportunity in times like these.

My late client has an unclaimed permanent life insurance policy, the transaction is for an unclaimed savings deposit of £17,820,000.00 (seventeen million eight hundred and twenty thousand pounds sterling) with a UK bank. The policyholder was one of our clients with the same surname as you who worked for an energy company in the UK and died of cancer. No claims have been made since his death and all our efforts to locate his relatives have been unsuccessful. There is no wife and no children.

The Insurance Code states that "insured perpetual policies" that are unclaimed must be turned over to an abandoned property department after 8 years. Please allow me to work with me to claim the benefits of this policy as you share the same surname as the deceased. If you allow me to add your name to the policy, all receipts will be processed on your behalf. Please note that I would like 10% of this money to be shared between charities and the remaining 90% between us. We will not break any law with this allegation as I have all the documentation needed to expedite the process in the most professional and confidential manner. I will provide all relevant documents to substantiate your claim as a beneficiary. This claim requires a high level of confidentiality and funds may take up to thirty business days or longer to be processed due to the coronavirus. Your earliest response to this would be greatly appreciated.

Please consider this offer and send me your details as follows for documentation

1, their full names,
2, your contact address / country of residence,
3, your direct cell phone number
4, date of birth
5, your profession

Your,

Lawyer David Richard
