"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Dear recipient!

Dear recipient!

This letter may come as a surprise to you, but if you become my partner, we
are ready to split $ 4.7 million in two weeks. Please take two minutes of
your attention, I will be as specific as possible.

My name is MrS. Fatuaita Sousa. I work as a marketer for one of the leading
banks in London, UK. (For security reasons, I will give you the name of our
bank after you agree to become my partner in this business) Please allow me
to use your name to apply as the next of kin of my late client, whose last
name is the same as yours. He died of the corona virus in June 2020 and has
no legal testament left, no next of kin or relatives presented to me prior
to his sudden death.

I saw your email address while searching the Internet and decided to
contact you about this BECAUSE YOU HAVE HIS SURNAME.

If you are interested, please reply to me at head.sousah@gmail.com as soon
as possible and I will explain to you better.

I look forward to hearing from you shortly

Mrs. Fatuaita
Sousa
