"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: PROPOSAL

Dear Friend,

I am Eng. Michael Dino and the Director Of Inspection Dept of (ECOWAS
clearing Commission) currently stationed at kotoka International
Airport Ghana. During one of our routine investigations, I discovered
An abandoned shipment of two Metallic Trunk Boxes that was transferred
from your country back to this Airport and when scanned it revealed an
undisclosed Funds, Alluvial Dust weighing approximately 60kg each.
These boxes were abandoned because the Content was not properly
declared by the delivery agent as per the contents rather it was
declared as personal effect to avoid diversion, On my assumption, the
Funds amounted US$6.5 Million USD and the boxes are still left in the
airport Storage depot till today.

Listen here, I want us to transact this business and share the
proceeds 50/50 since the shipper abandoned them and ran away. I will
arrange for the boxes to be moved out of this Airport to your address,
we shall secure all the necessary papers to back you up as the
beneficiary and the Receiver, once we are through I will deploy the
services of a secured shipping Company geared to provide the security
it needs to deliver these consignments to your doorstep.

Should this explanation meet with your understanding and you are
comfortable with the details, then make haste to write me back for
more detail.

Sincerely
Michael.
