"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Greetings Dear,

Greetings Dear,
May the peace of the Lord be with you and your family, I apologize if
my message do not suit your present status, let me introduce myself,
my name is Mr Andrew Gilmour, am a good citizen of Germany, I’m 53
years old by age,However I know this message may come to you as a
surprise, please consider this with all seriousness as I solicit your
assistance in the most polite language. I'm a successful businessman
and have a number of shares in various banks in the world. I spent all
my life on investment and corporate business. Along the line, I lost
my wife and two beautiful kids in a fatal accident here in Germany. I
must confess that I was a very greedy Man who didn't know much or care
about people until my present predicament.

Shortly after I lost my family I developed a serious health issue
which was diagnosed as Lung Cancer. From the medical report by my
personal doctor, I have nine (9) months only to live on this earth.
The sad part of it is that since I was diagnosed last month, my health
has dwindled sharply despite huge expenses on drugs and medical
services; my business and investment on the verge of collapse. The
pain is much that I had no one to turn to except God. I gave my life
to God immediately the issue came up and still trusting that God out
of His mercy would bring solution to my problem.

I have decided to donate what I have to Charities in building
Orphanage Homes for the less privileged or disabled people around the
world. Life for me in this world is not that important since we are
passing our life in this world so we can have a place in Heaven. I
have been touched by God to donate from what I have Labored in this
world for the good work of God which is $5,000,000.00 USD (Five
Million United States Dollars), rather than allow my relatives to use
my Wealth funds.

As I lay on my sick bed, I want you to help me in carrying out my last
wish on earth which will be very profitable to you. I want to “WILL” a
total sum of $5,000,000.00 USD (Five Million United States Dollars) to
you which I want you to distribute part of it to any charity home in
your city, for your kindness on this work you are to carry out, I am
offering you 40% of the total Fund, while 60% of the Fund will go to
any Charity organizations of your choice for me.

Please I am looking forward to hearing from you soon, if you can handle it.
Thanking you,
Mr Andrew Gilmour Executive Director Berghof Foundation
