"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend,

Greetings! Actually, I know that this message will look strange, surprising
and probably unbelievable to you as I am a stranger to you, but it is true
and reality. I have been directed to transfer the sum of: £22,000,000
(Twenty-Two Million British Pounds Sterling) to you. THIS IS NOT A JOKE;
I saw many profiles/contacts here online but I chose to make this proposal
to you. But after reading if it does not interest you, please kindly delete
it. I am contacting you by the Will of God. My name is: Eng. Mrs. Carol
Hope Harmony, I'm a mining engineer and an international businesswoman
specialized in Natural Gold Nuggets mining; but right now, I am critically
sick, I was diagnosed with Lung and bronchial cancer which has spread so
badly, and I will not survive according to my Oncologist report, I know you
can understand this ailment. My husband died in a fatal car accident with
our daughters a few years ago, making me a widow and leaving me with our
only son who is still a minor. My son is my biggest concern now as he is
still a minor and does not know anything about life and has nobody to take
care of him when I am gone; because I and my late husband have no
relatives, we are orphans and both grew up in the orphanage home in the UK
before relocating after our marriage due to the nature of our business. So,
if I die now my innocent child would be left alone in this wicked world and
I do not wish to send him to any orphanage home because it's not a
favorable experience, I want my son to grow up under the tutelage of a
foster parent abroad not in an orphanage home neither do I wish my son to
grow up in this part of the world due to social challenges here such as
peace uncertainty, economic instability, substandard social amenities, low
quality academic sector, poor health services, human right deprivation.
Please, I am begging you in the name of God to sincerely accept my
proposal; let me instruct my bank to wire transfer my lifetime savings
worth the sum of: £22 MILLION POUNDS to your bank account in your country
then you take my son to your home and raise him as your own son since I
will not survive this illness. Please, if you accept, kindly reply
immediately so that we can further discuss the details to get the
transaction done fast before anything happens to me.

Sincerely,
Eng. Mrs. Carol Harmony.
(ONE WITH GOD)
