"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Business Venture

Greetings,

I am Mr. Morris Tampanie a senior accountant with a commercial bank. My late client contracted the virus on his trip to Italy on the 18th of January 2020 and died on 26/02/2020 due to other underlying comorbidities.

Why I am contacting you

I want you to stand in as the next of kin to the deceased. From our records, he has no known next of kin. We have also received a notice (escheatment) to forward funds to the government if there is no next of kin.

My objective

At the successful completion of the claim process, I would want us to share at the ratio of 70% for you and 30% for me. The amount involved is US$ 23, 486,325.00.

Lastly, if you are not interested just delete the email. But if you are ready to know more about how we will achieve this goal of mutual interest, send a response and I shall provide more detail about the project.

Best Regards,

Mr. Morris Tampanie.
