"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Transfer Assistance Opportunity

Good day,

I rounded up a crude oil sales in Malaysia with my business partner
and we have $16.30 million USD which we over invoiced in the oil deal
to be paid alongside our commission of $32.30 million USD.

Coincidentally, my colleague and I are senior liaison staff of the
Angolan Government oil ministry in London and that makes it difficult
for the huge amount to be paid to us directly to our Bank account.

Please We request and suggest that your company account be used to
receive this said fund on our behalf and gradually you will send ours
to us in small volumes. We will be willing to offer you 25% of the
total face value which amounts to $48.350 million USD. We also will be
willing to partner with you in any lucrative investment especially in
your field.

I will appreciate your prompt response due to the fact that I have
been scheduled for transfer from London soonest.

Thanks as I await your gesture.

Regards,
Phillip Maxwell
