"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Can I trust you?

--
My dear,
I know that this mail will come to you as a surprise, considering that
we've never known each other or met before? My full name is Ms. Minatou
Jammeh, the wife of the former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh and a
citizen of the Gambia in West Africa, presently on exile in Senegal with
my two beautiful kids.

As a result of escape due to the crisis which took place recently in the
Gambia dated 19th January 2017, while my husband President Yahya Jammeh
is also on exile at another country personally known by me for security
reasons, right now, I'm been housed and cared for by the Attorney
General of Senegal and please this is very confidential, course nobody
knows my where about currently and this is for my safety and that of my
dear kids because the new president vowed to execute us as he took over
the office of the presidency of Gambia on the same 19th January 2017.

It is my pleasure to meet you; I would like to know you more deeply,
are you married or single? Sorry if I ask too many questions. I just
want to know you better and I will tell you more about myself too and
the core purpose of our meeting when I get your reply and please do tell
me more about your country.

Although we've not seen each other face to face, I like us to keep this
closeness and hope this will bring us to a better future as I wish.

Take good care and have a lovely day as I wait for your reply, (
lgtsvandal@gmail.com ) .

Sincerely,
Minatou Jammeh.
