"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear sir,

I am directed to contact you for investment in good business projects and ideas that will yield a high ROI (Return On Investment) in your country. The investment amount and the duration will be disclosed in my next communication.

The investment fund is generated from one of our prominent foreign suppliers approved payment voucher that has been liquidated to a suspense account for the past four (4) years. The contractor or any of his relations have not ever come for the claim, which we assumed might be as a result of death. Besides, the fund will be due for government withdrawal after fourteen (14) working days from today.

Being that the supplier is from your country, I decided to contact you as his relation before the government will recover the approved payment.

Regards,

Feredrick Carlos.
