"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.

I work under an Argo Production Company and I've got a business proposal that can change our lives for good financially. My boss usually buys a gallon of Argo chemical from a vendor for production at the rate of $47,000 per gallon and he orders about 180 to 290 gallons in two months for production. Unfortunately, the vendor passed away a few weeks ago, I’ve been able to research and discover another legit vendor that offers about $25,300 per gallon. I sent them an email already, I’ll urge you to stand in the gap between my boss and the new vendor to supply the chemicals to me, I’ll send you my Boss contact in which you’ll send a contract proposal to supply the Argo chemicals to the factory. I’m so sure he’ll be interested in to deal because we’re running out of stock. I’ll also forward the details of the new vendor that sells cheaper at a rate of $25,300 then we can buy from them and resell to my Boss (company) at the same rate of $47,000 or we can reduce the discount of $500 - $1000.
