"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Thanks for your immediate response to this urgent call for help/mutual benefit. My name is Musa Ibrahim. I am from Juba, South Sudan Northeastern Africa. I am 24years old and Single. I got your contact from South African Chambers of commerce. I decided to contact you because of the urgency of my situation here in South Africa. I am presently residing in South Africa due to the recent ended Civil War in my country (South Sudan conflict from 2013 to 2018). My Father (Late. Dr. Ibrahim Lawal was the CHAIRMAN MANAGING DIRECTOR OF IBRAHIMLAWAL & SONS INDUSTRIAL COMPANY IN THE CAPITAL CITY OF MY COUNTRY (Juba). Also the PERSONAL ADVISER to the former HEAD OF STATE (President James Wani Igga (2013–2016), before the rebels attacked our house one early morning & kill him with my mother and my younger siblings.

It's only me that is presently alive because I wasn't around when this happened. I was in the University here in South Africa, where am schooling, I was doing my first year in accountant. After the incident, I then decided to stay in South African, where am residing now as Asylum Seeker in a REFUGEE CAMP. I am contacting you, due to the problematic situation which I am passing through here in this camp. Due to my position and my country’s reputations with South Africa, few of us here from Juba are not eligible to go out from the camp. It's just like one staying in the prison, but I believe by His grace I will extricate here soon. It may interest you to know that l don't have any relatives, whom l can go to, as all my relatives abscond in the middle of the war. The only one l have now is Rev Patrick Mlungisi, who is the pastor of the United Church of Christ, Johannesburg Branch. Here in the camp, he has been very nice to me since I came here.

Please listen to this, when my father was alive, he deposited some amount of money in one of the private security/finance company in Netherland, Europe, which he used my name as the next of kin. The amount in question is Twenty-Four Million, Four Hundred Thousand US Dollars (USD$24.4M), as if he for see the looming danger in Juba. According to the Asylum Seeker permits holders (Refugee) in South Africa, I am not allowed to operate account of such huge sum and at my present age, I have not operated account of such huge sum. Therefore, I will like you to help me transfer this money to your account and arrange for my coming down there to meet with you for sharing and investments purposes. I kept this very top secret to people in the camp here; the only person that knows about it is the Rev. Patrick, because he is like a father to me.

You can contact me through my email like as I said above, as a refugee here I don't have any privileged to any financial investments, because of the South African Refugee policy. My main intention is to go back to my studies because I only attended my first year before the tragic incident that lead to my being in this present situation took place.

NOTE; As soon as I receive your positive response showing your interest, I will educate you more on the way you will assist me receive the money into your Bank account overseas. In the light of the above, I shall appreciate your urgent response indicating your capability and willingness to handle this transaction sincerely, pending my arrival to meet with you. More so, I will like you to keep this matter highly confidential and don't tell it to anyone for I am afraid of losing my life and the money if people get to know about it as I will be relocating to your country after successful completion of the transfer. Remember I am giving you all this information due to the confident I confide on you.
