"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Hello,

My name is David Burnett, A citizen of United Kingdom and senior accountant with Lloyds Bank UK branch. A late account holder who bears the same last name with you had died since 2007 with his nuclear family leaving £4,649,400 (Four million six hundred and forty nine thousand four hundred british pounds sterling) with our bank without a decree or will and no next of kin has been seen or traced for claim over the years. Now there is a plan for the funds to be transferred to the government in the next few weeks.

I want to present you as a beneficiary/next of kin, I will use my position and influence in our bank as the account manager of the deceased to make them release this funds to you for us to share(50:50). If I wait for days and I do not hear from you, I shall look for another person.
