"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.
The following phrases in this message should put you on alert:
- "million dollars" (they want you to be blinded by the prospect of quick money, but the only money that ever changes hands in 419 scams is from you to the criminals)

My name is Mrs Ahmed Aci, Am from Indonesia, but my late husband is

doctor said stage The present is uncontrollable and I live a few more
months Before the death of my husband, he work a contract with the
British government worth of 4.7 million dollars,but he died suddenly
before the money have been sent into my bank account, my husband was a
philanthropist before his death
he also encouraged me to help poor peoples because, since we got
married we have not been able to have any child, because of the
condition of my health.

I have sent two million dollars to my hometown (Indonesia) and i will
also deposit Seven hundred thousand dollars to the hospital for my
feedings and medication , i will like to send the remaining two
million dollars to you so that you will help me and give it to the
churches , orphanages and widows, over there in your country as
instructed by my late husband since we did not have any children to
inherit this money.

Please my dear do not discriminate on religion, race, ethnicity when
handling this project My dear please, try and reply me as soon as
possible for more information, May God bless you and your family, I
would like to talk to you about my other observation on the phone, but
the problem is that i can not speak well due to pains, please try as
