"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: I AWAIT YOUR URGENT RESPONSE

Greetings.

My Name is Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Federal Republic of Nigeria. My reason for contacting you now was born out of the necessity to find a reputable personality or company who will come in and stand to receive the sum of Four Hundred and Twenty Million United States Dollars (US$420,000,000.00) which I deposited with a Foreign Bank overseas . I want to put this money into a profitable investment and I want you to form a partnership with me in this respect.

Your percentage shall be 30% of the fund while 60% shall be mine. The remaining 10% will be for expenses from both parties: you and myself. Please get back to me immediately if you are interested in this transaction. Further details shall be forwarded to you later.

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu
