COMPENSATION TO CREDIT CARD & ONLINE SCAM VICTIMS FOR THE YEAR IN REVIEW 2018
Credit card fraud is a wide-ranging term for theft and fraud committed using or involving a payment card, such as a credit card or debit card, as a fraudulent source of funds in a transaction. The purpose may be to obtain goods without paying, or to obtain unauthorized funds from an account. When a credit card is lost or stolen, it may be used for illegal purchases until the holder notifies the issuing bank and the bank puts a block on the account. Most banks have free 24-hour telephone numbers to encourage prompt reporting.
Still, it is possible for a thief to make unauthorized purchases on a card before the card is cancelled. Without other security measures, a thief could potentially purchase thousands of dollars in merchandise or services before the cardholder or the card issuer realizes that the card has been compromised. According to a new report from Barclays, 47% of the worlds credit card fraud happens in the United States, even though Americans only account for 24% of the total credit card volume. The report says, "The increasing instances of credit-card fraudand the subsequent hassles, like not being able to use our credit cards or having to replace them more oftenare mostly due to the fact that the US still relies on old, faulty technology that the rest of the world moved on from years ago."
100 hundred people are set to receive Funds for up to $10.6 Million US Dollars (Ten Million Six Hundred United States Dollars) each after being sold worthless credit card protection insurance. An official compensation scheme has been set up and checks to claim the cash are starting to land on doormats/Mail Box. It involves card protection plans that were sold by nearly all the big banks. Often branded Sentinel, they usually cost a said fee yearly and most people renewed annually. They were sold to those with bank accounts and credit cards, but this scheme only applies to policies sold on credit cards between 14 January 2017 and August 2017. Even if you no longer have the product, you may still be entitled to compensation.
This is to inform the entire public about the ongoing Credit Card compensation scheme which is going on right now.
