"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Re.. Your Urgent Attention

--
Greetings, My name is Mr. Y. T. Chan, I am an employee of an Insurance
Company. My position is the Senior Claim Adjuster for the Insurance
Company. During our last primary auditions for 2017 end of year quarter,
I found out in my department that one of our clients who insured his
properties and life has died since two years ago that is in 2015. Since
then, nobody has come forward to claim his insurance premium which
amounted to Five Million Five Hundred Thousand US Dollars (USD$5,500
000).

Therefore, I am seeking for a reliable and trustworthy Foreigner that
can act as the deceased next of kin to lay claim on the insurance pay
out. Note that I shall provide all necessary assistance to make sure
this premium is paid out. All documentations regarding this claim will
be forwarded to you for presentation to the Insurance Company for
further approval. If this goes well with you, we shall disburse the
funds in accordance to a percentage we can agree on. Note that this is
absolutely confidential and upon your response, I shall explain
explicitly to you for more understanding. Please endeavor to contact me
either by email ( mrytchan68@gmail.com ) indicating your interest in
this business proposition.

Regards,

Mr. Y. T. Chan
Senior Claim Adjuster
