"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.
This email message is a next of kin scam.

As a result,i decided to set up a Charitable Foundation, to
create awareness about CANCER related disease,to help the
disabled and less privileged in the society who cannot afford the
expensive Cancer treatments.I prayed over this and my spirit bears
me witness that am doing the right thing.That this decision will
inspire someone out there and give hope to the hopeless.

Consequently, I have decided to invest my life savings in the
sum of Seven Millions Five Hundred Thousand Dollars to set up
this memorial foundation and i would love you to come in as my
ambassador and work
in that capacity to get this funds evenly distributed to charity
and invested in profit oriented projects that will give gainful employment
and proceeds will be channeled to charity at the end of the year.I also
want you to stand in as my next of kin to receive this funds.I am
without child and
my husbands died of cancer too.I contacted you in trust believing you can
honestly assist me with my last wish..

I wait to hear from you, to give you further details regarding
this and to direct you to my lawyer who will perfect all
documents to formally declare and present you as the beneficiary
and administrator of this fund.
