"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: URGENT RESPOND IS NEEDED

--
Hello!

I was looking for someone with this last name, when I saw your name I
was moved to contact you to see how I and you can work this out.

On 15TH MARCH, 2007, one MR. HUDSON, from your country, a HEAVY DUTY
MACHINES dealer made a fixed deposit in our bank to the tune of
SEVENTEEN MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND USA DOLLARS
(USD$17,500,000.00) and the due date is exactly this time of the year.

Sadly Dr. Hudson was among the victims of the 2008 deadly earthquake
in SICHUAN, CHINA. He was in china on a business trip and that was how
he met his end. He left nobody to claim the fund because he did not
mention any NEXT-OF-KIN/HEIR when the fixed deposit was made and he
wasn't married then so, he had no child.

If this fund is not claimed now after a certain period, it will be
classified as abandoned/un-claimed fund and the top bank officials in
our bank will share it among themselves. I don’t want this to happen
that’s why I contacted you to help me to receive this fund into your
account as the NEXT-OF-KIN/BENEFICIARY since you have the same LAST
NAME with the deceased.

Kindly consider this message and reply to my private email address:
(johncrews2118@gmail.com) so that I will give you more details. I am
offering you 40% while you keep the other 60% for me till I resign and
join you for further investments.

I am waiting for your positive response.

Sincerely,
Mr. John Crews...
