"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I am contacting you to inform you that an expatriate here in Ghana who was my client died after some serious sickness at the hospital herein, before his death he deposited some huge amount of fund with a financial institution herein currently contained in a dormant bank account. The bank contacted me as his lawyer asking me to provide any person who has the same "Last name" with the deceased to inherit this deposited fund since he has no beneficiary to this bank account and we are unable to find any of his true relative to inherit this fund. This is why am contacting you so that i will present your names to the bank which will enable them transfer this funds to your overseas bank account successfully because you have the same "Last name" OR country of origin with the deceased (my late client). I will arrange every machinery which will ensure your successful claim of this fund and its transfer to you while you compensate me after receiving this fund in your bank account
for my good work.


Your swift response to this letter will be appreciated so that i will introduce you to the bank immediately.
