"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam
The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.
Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.
Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:
- An email address listed inside this email has been used in a known fraud before.
- The following phrases in this message should put you on alert:
- "a security company " (this will cost you money - be careful with upfront payments to anyone you only know through email, especially if they promise you a lot of money. NEVER send money by Western Union or MoneyGram to people you do not know personally - NO EXCEPTIONS! Instant wire transfer services are not meant to be used with strangers because they offer no protection against fraud. That is precisely why the criminals want you send money that way. )
- "trunk box" (they want you to be blinded by the prospect of quick money, but the only money that ever changes hands in 419 scams is from you to the criminals)
- "million dollars" (they want you to be blinded by the prospect of quick money, but the only money that ever changes hands in 419 scams is from you to the criminals)
- ",500,000" (they want you to be blinded by the prospect of quick money, but the only money that ever changes hands in 419 scams is from you to the criminals)
- This email message is a orphan scam.
- This email lists free webmail addresses. Use of such addresses is typical for scams. Lotteries, banks and any but the smallest of companies do not normally use such addresses. Criminals use them to anonymously send and receive email at Internet cafes.

Subject: From Miss Ceillline Milan
Miss Ceilline Milan,
Before proceeding my name is Miss Ceilline Milan, the only son and
daughter of (late) Mr. and Mrs. Michael Milan, Ivorian nationality. My
parents were killed during the 2011 civil war in Ivory Coast; The
reason was they were supporting former President Mr. Laurent Gbagbo.
My father was a well-known politician in this country before he was
killed with my mother. During the crisis my father sent me to France
in the hope that they will gain power again without knowing that their
end has arrived.
My reason to contact you today is that this is 5 years my father died
and my father's lawyer read my father's will before everyone in the
family and the lawyer let me know that my late father owns a huge sum
of $ 8,500,000) million dollars he put in a trunk box and deposited in
a security company here in Ivory Coast and he made me his next one
that will inherit the fund after 5 years of his death.
I went to the security company where the trunk box was deposited and
the security company has confirmed the existence of the trunk box. And
the Security Company gave me the condition that they can not release
that box of logs here in this country because my father was a
politician, and they can only free the log box for me by providing
offshore contact outside of this country. So my dear I want you to
stand behind me as my foreign partner so that I can introduce you to
the Security Company to allow the security company to proceed and
deliver the briefcase to your country so that once you receive the box
Briefcase that will send me Visa and ticket to come to your country
and settle down and help me to invest that money to have a good
future.
