"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.

- "diplomatic agent" ("diplomats" who perform deliveries of cash or other valuables to you only exist in 419 scams)

Hi Friend,

I am VICTIMNAME Scott an American soldier currently serving in Syria, I am working with General Sean MacFarland, the Commander of U.S Army Forces in Syria for war against Islamic State Militants (TERRORIST) am contacting you to help me receive the money we recovered on our raids in Terrorist Camp, I and my colleague recover the money and decided to share it for our benefit hence I am contacting you to help me receive the money to be kept in your custody for safe keeping only at this time.

The money was carefully packaged in a box and have made contact with a friend who is working with the UNITED NATIONS RED CROSS here in Damascus. I have told him that the luggage belongs to one of our soldier that died during the attack but before giving up he told me to make sure the luggage get to his family.I need someone I can work with on trust and that is why I contacted you I want to give you the benefit of doubt that you will not betray me.

If you accept, I will put you forward as the Beneficiary/Owner of the funds and then the box shall be deposited on your name as the beneficiary and the Diplomatic Agent will deliver the box into your custody anywhere in the world. I just need your acceptance trust confidentiality and sincerity, all is done. I have 100% assurance that you will surely receive the box without any hitch as every arrangement is already made only looking who to assist me.I am presently in a hospital recovering from injuries Sustained in a suicide bomb attack, that took place during our combat with some ISIS Militant.

Once I confirm your interest to my proposal and your positive reply then will I proceed with the arrangement to move the luggage out of the trouble area and In less than 7 days the money should be in your safe custody.
