"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.

- "dear friend" (a common phrase found in 419 scams)

I need a reliable businessman whom I will present to my company as the supplier in India to enable the management contact him to confirm availability of the raw liquid chemical material , that why I decided to contact you for a business with the company I work with into local manufacturing of animal drugs, there is a raw material my Boss, have send me to India once to purchased, butÂ right now I have had a serious accident that has kept me in hospital for the past eight months, and our company can not send me to India again, my director want to send my colleague , and I donâ€™t want my colleague with our director to know the material price because I add some money on top and supplied to our company ,

I am contacting you since you are from India for you to stand as the seller in India, so that I will give my director your contact as the material supplier in India, so that you purchase from local dealer and supply to delegate my Boss will send to meet you in India, the local dealer is selling per liter at rate of 250,000 rupees, then supply to Boss delegate at rate of $8,900, you and I will share profit you will make from the company I work with 60 % for you and 40% for me, I will wait fir your urgent if possible you will handle the business.
