"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam
The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.
Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.
Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:
- This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.
- This email message is a 419 scam. Please see our 419 FAQ for more details on such scams.

Subject: My warmest greetings.
My warmest greetings.
I hope you will not betray the trust that i have on you even though we have not before. I am contacting you to do a special job for God that will offer you good reward and divine blessings.
My name is Mrs.Gloria Pattugalan from Brasil. I am writing this message from my sick bed. I am suffering from cancer of the breast for so many years with out a medical solution. I have been to several hospitals with out any medical solution.
I have lived in Cote d'Ivoire for 45 years with my husband. My husband Mr Alberto Pattugalan and I owns a very
large COCOA farm in the west of Cote d'Ivoire. Cote d'Ivoire is the highest COCOA producing country in the world. We also produce and export COCOA within and out side Africa.
Due to my present cancer of the breast which
has no medical solution i have decided to contact you because i want to donate some money for the work of God especially for the Less Privileged in the society.
I want to donate $3.000.000.00 for the project because i was told by my doctor that i may not last long due to breast cancer. I have handed some of our properties over to the family of my husband but i want to donate this money to the Less Privileged as my own contribution for the work of God before i die.
I chose you to help me complete the project due to my present health condition. I will be very happy to die if this project is accomplished and the money used to help the Less Privileged in the society.
I will give you more details as soon as i hear from you. Please pray for my me.
From,
Mrs.Gloria Pattugalan.
