"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

We received an application this morning from somebody claiming to be your Cousin that you are dead and buried. May your soul

We decided to mail to know if you are truly dead or alive because several attempt has been made to divert your compensation
 
fund which has been programmed into an International ATM card so that no body will ever have access to divert your fund to a
 
foreign account.
 
If you are alive, could Please stop any form communication you are having with any body regarding any form of transaction or
 
we will report you to FBI in your Country but if truly that you are dead, we will authorize our paying bank to proceed with
 
your Cousin.
 
If you are alive, kindly contact our paying Bank with their information below and send your Full name, Home Address,
 
telephone number and ID Card for easy identification to enable them deliver your ATM card contained your fund to your home
 
address without further delay. Please call them to enable them stop any communication with your Cousin.
