"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Re: Transfer of Funds to your nominated account.
 
This is to inform you that our finance company has been mandated by the Presidency of the Republic of Ghana to pay you your outstanding funds which is in a fixed deposit account. The Funds will be paid to your account bit by bits. You will therefore send the following information’s for the successful transfer of your funds and also to avoid the transfer of your funds into a different account.
 
 
1) Your full name and address
2) Your telephone and fax number.
3) Your banking details where your funds will be transferred into.
4) A scan copy of your ID.
 
 
Also note that there is an option if you want the funds to be brought to you in your country.
 
 
The Management will like to apologies on behalf of the Government of Ghana for the long delay of the transfer of your funds into your account.
We await your swift response.
