"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: RE: SUPPORT INQUIRY""

Dear Sir,

It's my pleasure to contact you in a desperate bid to assist a patient
of mine who is dying. I am a Red Cross member and a medical doctor by
profession. I am also a member of DWB [Doctors Without Borders], a
voluntary medical organization and I have worked in several parts of
epidemic and war-torn Africa.

I am in Paris right now. However, I need to meet the last wish of a
wealthy patient of mine, a native of Egypt, in Africa who lost his
entire family to the ongoing war, before he dies. He has given documents
concerning his reserve deposit with a bank in Paris in the sum of EUR
14,730,000.00 [fourteen million seven hundred and thirty Euros]; which
he wants me to get a trusted person outside of Africa to distribute to
his/her charity of choice.

I contacted you out of providence and if you respond, I shall give you
further details on how we could work to assist this patient fulfill his
final wish on earth.

Waiting for your
response as a matter of urgency.

Yours faithfully,

Philippe Hubert Giroud.
