"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: I send my greetings to you

Dear Friend,

My wish to charitable organization in United States of America.

I send my greetings to you in the name of God. I got your email
contact from your country's guest book:

I am Engr. Morris Walker a citizen of United Kingdom, I am 56 years
old, I work as the Chief Engineer of (CHEVRON OIL/GAS NIGERIA LTD),
the leading oilfield service provider in Nigeria, for over 18years.

Today, I am a sick man suffering from (cancer of the lungs) almost
five year now immediately after the death of my wife, My wife died
without a child, not too long after the death of my wife, I was
admitted in this hospital and after series of diagnoses carried out on
me, my doctor told me that I will not live much longer from now
because my body system is no longer responding to any antibiotic
medications, this is because the cancer has extended all over my body
that there is nothing else they can do medically to save me.

My cancer illness has gotten to a critical condition and life
threatening stage and I do not have a next of kin/beneficiary to
inherit all I labored for, I decided to sale all my belongings and
properties including funds and deposited all which came up to the sum
of (10.5 million dollars) with a Bank in Nigeria.

Presently, I am in London where I am hospitalized, and this money is
still with the Bank in Nigeria.

Recently. the management of the bank wrote me as the true owner to
come forward and claim my funds because it has overstayed or rather
issue a letter of authorization to somebody I trust to receive it on
my behalf since I cannot come over because of my illness or the
Government of Nigeria will likely confiscate according to their laws.

I have been touched by God to donate from what I have the sum of (10.5
million dollars) to you for the good the work of God. It is my last
wish to see that this money is distributed each year among the poor,
the destitute, the widows, and the orphanages in your community.

I want you also to use this money to fund the motherless babies home,
I sincerely believe with your support we can affect positively the
lives of the poor and the needy in your community.

As soon as I receive your reply, I shall give you the contact of the
Bank. I will also issue you a Letter of Authority that will prove you
as the new beneficiary of my fund.

Please, I know that this letter may be a very big surprise to you
because, it is true that I don't know you but, I have nothing else in
mind other than to help the poor according to the direction and wishes
of God.

May God bless you for your precious time to read my email as I await
your urgent response.

Please kindly reply on private email contacts
