"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Hello Dear,

This is a personal letter directed to you and I request that it should be
treated as such. I am Mr. Emmanuel Madison Gwen, a citizen of Sudan but
presently in Ghana. My late father Dr. Madison Gwen deposited the sum of
$18.3 million with a security company for safe keeping and for the up
bringing of the family.

As the eldest son,i am the next of kin to the funds. My father was a gold
merchant here in Africa until his death.The Funds is presently waiting for
clearance and claims.

I want you to stand as my Beneficiary and Business Partner to receive the
funds from the custody of the Diplomat, which is legally possible and would
be done in accordance with the laws of the land. I have all the legal
documents relating to the Funds that were issued to my late father.

This funds is all that my family is depending on, so please help us. We are
highly in need of your help. My mother and I have agreed to compensate you
with 30% from the valued sum of Eighteen Million Three Hundred Thousand
Dollars only ($18.3 million).
Upon the receipt of your reply, I will send you by E-mail the next step to
take. I will not fail to bring to your notice that this proposal is 100%
risk and hitch-free and that you should not entertain any fears since I
have all vital documents that would confer you the legal right to make this
claim.

I guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that
will protect you from any breach of the law. If this proposal is acceptable
