"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Sir,

Assalamu alaikum,

I got your email contact through my computer search for a reliable person that can assist me and my mother in business investment, I am Jamil and my mother Hadjia Abdulaal from Libya. My late father was a minister for the Gaddafi regime in Libya. He was killed during the war in Libya by supporters of the national transition council. Before his death he has already given my mother all his doccuments and told us that he deposited the sum of twelve million dollars ($US12M) with a Safe keeping company in Bangkok Thailand, he wanted to use the money to purchase farm machineries from Thailand before the war broke out in Libya.

It was after the death of my father that we arrived in Thailand because of the money my late father deposited here, we came into this country with the help of United Nations as refugees, I and my sick mother Hadjia are now in a UN refugee camp in Udonthani Thailand. We ask that you help us to transfer this money to your country for our investment. I and my mother have agreed to give you 30% of total amount for your assistance and the remaining 70% will be for my family investment.

We shall appreciates your response with good mind of assistance.

Thanks,
Mr. Jamil Abdulaal
