"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE,over your outstanding transfer.

Dear Friend,

Hello my dear how are you, it has been long, well, like I told you on our last
conversation that I’ll try the best i can to deposit the sum ($1.700, 000.00)
One Million Seven Hundred Thousand Dollar with Eco-Bank Benin once my
secretary
transfer the whole amount into my local account. Now he has successfully
channeled the money to my account and i have deposited it with Eco-Bank Benin
and also instructed them to proceed immediately and transfer it to you through
Western Union Money Transfer which you will be receiving $5,000.00 three times
per a day making it $15,000.00 daily, this is because the Western Union can't
accept $15,000.00 at once so accept my apology for the inconveniences.

Now the first payment of $5,000.00 has been sent to you today according to the
bank, so contact Eco-Bank Western Union Agent to pick up this $5,000.00
immediately to enable them release the remaining $10,000.00 today without any
further delay, and let me know immediately you confirm the first installment
payment.
