"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Customer,

I am giving you this light for you to know it before hand. Do not say I did not inform you.

A message came over to this Western Union Money Transfer administrative center as an instruction to cancel your payment with our Western Union Money Transfer and this was as a result of your inability to pay the fee for the warrantee document.

This morning, I went ahead to pick up the $3000 which was sent already, since you are not interested to receive the funds transfer. I told you to pay the cost of purchasing the Warranty Document but you find it very difficult to work on my advice.

You can now check from our Western Union Money Transfer System and see that the money is now picked up. It shall only be sent back to your name and country after you pay the $85 for the Warranty Document. Once you pay the cost of procuring the warrantee document, the Finance Minister will instruct an immediate transfer of the funds to you.
