"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.

- "the consignment" (they want you to be blinded by the prospect of quick money, but the only money that ever changes hands in 419 scams is from you to the criminals)

- "(ecowas)" (the name of a person or institution often appearing in 419 scams)

KOTOKA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT,
OFFICE OF THE CUSTOMS AND PRESIDENTIAL CASTLE,
MARITIME AND AVIATION UNIT,
ACCRA – GHANA.

ATTN; BENEFICIARY,

We are making contact with you via this medium as directed by United Nations. After a few days deliberation between Members of Economic Communitte of West African States(Ecowas) and G8 Committee, in Collaborations with United Nation, another opportunity was granted to all foreign consignee's which their consignments/Funds(compensation from United Nation) was seized to due their wrong dealings with none UN officials and none governmental documentation that was not duly approved by UN.

To get your consignment delivered at your doorstep address as agreed by United Nation, you will be required to forward to us the followings: copy of
your identification (either driver's license or Intl. passport), your office & home address, telephone numbers (including cell phone no. for effective communication) and also the name of your nearest Intl. airport to your city to enable the diplomat and his UN Representative whom UN has appointed to accompany the consignment down to your residence to en rout direct flight From London to your nearest airport.

Once we receive the following information's, all the legal documents and relevant papers works that will enable you lodge your fund in any bank of your choice in the world without interference from any law enforcement agents, will be procured in your name before the Authorities in charge here in Accra- the Republic of Ghana and copies will be dispatched to you via DHL courier service before the arrival of the Diplomat to enable you confirm your payment before endorsing on the documents.

This delivery is Urgent so do not hesitate or delay to send the required information’s as expected so that this delivery will take effect immediately.
