"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: A Call For Rescue From Elna Carole Janvier

Dearest one,

I know that this letter may sound strange to you as you dont know me or have meet before, but I will start by introducing myself to you. My name is miss Elna Carole Janvier, I am 17 years old. I was pushed to write you this letter due to the recent tragedy that befall my country which sundenly turned me to become an ophan within a twinkle of an eye. I was a happy teenager that believed that I was special created by God because of the priveledges he gave me in life to be the daughter of my father, but sundenly all this joy was turn into sorrow and agony on the tuesday the 12th day of january 2010 at 21:53.

I was living happily with my family, my father Dr Frederique Janvier and my mother mrs Nastassia Janvier.I was their only daughter and for this reason they take me so precious. My father has been the ambassador of haiti in Cote d'Ivoire since 2006 till the 12th of january 2010 when that earthquake occured. He went for a leave on the 2nd of january together with my mother to our country haiti before that great tragedy took away the life of my beloved father and beloved mother, the left me alone here in cote d'Ivoire because I am busy with my external exams, which surpose to finish on the 16th of january 2010, my father called a day before the incident and told me to join them in haiti immediately I am through with my exams, but unfortunately to me that was the last time I heard voice of my beloved father and mother.

since the death of my father and mother, I have lost every hope in life as my parents are no more and beside there is a very big political problem in this country and I dont have any other person hence my parents are no more, but a week after the incident one the director of Atlantique bank cote d'Ivoire called me and informed me that my father deposited the sum of one million eight hundred and fifty thousand us dollars ($1.850,000.00) in a general trust account which has been in domant for many months and he used my name as the next of kin to this fund.

Now I want you to help me to transfer this fund to your account since I am just only 17 years and send me a letter of invitation to join you in your country where I can stay and put behind me the death of my late parents, and continue my education, then you will help me to invest this fund in a very good business in your country which you will be incharge because I am just only 17years and I dont know anything about business. so for this reason you are going to charge of any business you will like us to invest with this fund. I can not go back to my country Haiti as it will always make me to fill the pains of my late parents, this is the reason why I am seeking your sincere help to restore joy to my life again. I pray that God will give you the courage to save my soul from this agony.

As soon I hear from you I will give you the contact of the bank where this fund was deposited, but any delay from you will give the chance to look for another person for the same purpose as the political crisis here is geting out of hand everyday, I am afraid of loosing my life as well.

Your sincere

Miss Elna Carole Janvier.
