"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I am an accountant with a finance house in Accra Ghana. There
was a client who deposit sum of $15m with us and he died on
accident since 2002 nobody to claim the money from the bank,
the account has been decleared domant, I and my manager have
decided to contact you to be the beneficiary of the fund..
I want you to stand as the owner of the money so that we
claim the money from the bank, all the documents will be
provided to you, all we needed from you is your full name
and address including your telephone number and bank particulars
where the fund can be transfer to before disbursement. Also I
want you to tell me how much percentage you will like to take
after the fund has successfully lodged in your destnation.
