"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello

Hello,

My Name is Hilda Jonadab,20 years old. I am a native of Freetown in
Sierra Leone.

I am writing this mail to you in confidence as I need your help to
transfer uk£15 Million from a bank here in Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire into
your account in your country.

This money belongs to my father and was meant for a Gold and Diamond
Export company which my father wanted to establish at Abidjan, Cote
D'Ivoire. But he was unfortunately killed by his elder brother with the
help of our family lawyer, so they can both share my father's assets
and landed properties.

Hence, I am pleading for your assistance in 3 ways:
1. To provide an account to receive the money.
2. To arrange for me to join you over at your location on successful
completion of the transfer of this money into your account.
3. To secure admission on my behalf into a very good school so that I
can settle down to my studies once I get there.

This is my only hope in life and I don't want to toil with it.

Please tell me what percentage of the total money will be ok for you to
assist me and get me out of my present situation. Please consider this
and get back to me as soon as possible. I wait for your immediate reply
for more details.

Yours sincerely,
Hilda.
