Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Subject: an honest person
Dear Sir/Ma,
I am a broker and I deal on crude oil, the bonny light crude. I am looking for an honest person who will join me in the sale of the product. There is a large quantity of this product ready for sale on CIF contract.
Your duty will be to get the buyer while I get the seller. We can both be making up to the sum of US$2M every month for as long as the contract will last. My calculation is based on the sale of two million barrels each month and the commission is $1 per barrel for the buyer's broker and $1 for the seller's broker.
I will tell you more as soon as I hear from you.
MR ALI MOSES.
