"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

From: Ali Abdullah10 Jasim Street,Ibrahim'Ali, Tikrit - Iraq. Re: Urgent Assistance Needed Dear,By way of introduction I am Engr. Ali Abdullah, I represent my family as the oldest son of the Abdullah family, who are the descendants of 'Ibrahim'Ali' from the oil rich region of Tikrit, in Iraq. Our story is a very pathetic one and I apologise for taking you back to history. I do hope you will kindly and patiently read and remember moneys paid to royalties for the exploration of oil in our region. Unfortunately, in the past 15 years, Saddam Hussein and his gang of bandits (Republic Guards) has taken over our oil wells without payments and we cannot complain as those who did were all assassinated in Gas Chambers. In the wake of the Gulf War of 1990, our family withdrew most of our funds from the coded bank accounts we used in safeguarding it from Saddam Hussein and hide it in a secret chamber underground, where it remained safe until after the war. At the end of Gulf war, we moved the funds into a private vault of a security company in Baghdad, where it has remained until the fall of the terrorist government of Saddam Hussein.Prior to the ouster and fall of the regime of Saddam Hussein by the American and British forces, and the eventual looting of most public institutions, we realized that the safety of our deposit with the Security Company was in great danger. As such, before the looting started, we were able to retrieve issued documents of the box/vault containing the fund totaling US$14.7 Million from the Safe Deposit Company with the help of a United States Marine ( Sgt.James Hughes) We are quite happy that Saddam was forced out of power,as he is the cause of our hardship here, but our funds are equally trapped here and there is no avenue to transfer any amount from Iraq at the moment. The problem now is how we can transfer the funds totaling US$14.7 Million in US currency from here which we deposited with the safe company as family treasures. My purpose of writing you is to solicit for your help in safe-keeping the fund for us. We are afraid that with the remote and secret looting still going on and the bomb blasts, nowhere around here would be safe for the money even in the Security Company here in Bagdad. We are equally doubtful of the sincerity of the re-engaged Iraqi Police and so would not want to further keep the money here lest, we be accused of looting government funds. So we need your help in securing and receiving the box/Vault from the Security agency which has diplomatic immunity to move the deposit to the west, where our family is planning to relocate to, as life in Iraq would no longer interest us. I have to travel lots of miles each day to send an email hoping someone out there would assist this family. If you can, we will give you the details of the agency where the fund is deposited which can lift the funds from here to their collection agency overseas and then deliver it to you for safe keeping. With the fund safely delivered to you, we would then come over to your country for a meeting to share the funds and hopefully start a new life with you as a partner. For your assistance our family is willing to give you 25% of the funds. However, we are open for negotiations if this proposition (on your share)does not suit you. We eagerly await your response on ali_abdullah@terra.com.ve so we can inform you of the next line of action. RegardsEngr. Ali AbdullahFor the entire 'Ibrahim'Ali' family.
