Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Dearest Friend,
How are you doing, how's life and the weather out there, where you are. My email might come to you as a surprise but I need to share this very important issue with you. I beg you to read this letter with an open mind as I am writing you this letter in good faith, I came across your email contact while I was searching the internet for a friend and my heart moved me to write to you.
As you read this, I don't want you to feel sorry for me, because, I believe everyone will die someday. My name is Ricardo Anthony Ziyel, I am an Industrialist in Singapore, in Asia.I have been diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer which was discovered very late, due to my laxity in caring for my health. It has defiled all forms of medicine, and right now I have only about a few months to live, according to medical experts. So far, I have distributed money to some charity organizations in the U.A.E, Singapore, Algeria and Malaysia. Now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this my self anymore. I once asked members of my family to close one of my accounts and distribute the money which I have there to charity organization and to the less priviledged in Bulgaria and Pakistan, they refused and kept the money to themselves with the help of my former lawyer. Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as they seem not to be contended with what I have left for them. The last of my money which no one knows of is the huge cash deposit of Nineteen million dollars {$19,000,000,00} that I have with a finance brokers and Security underwriters in Europe, this financial company operates in funds management, international cash,banking with a reputable correspondent bank worldwide,bullion underwriting,security handling and general appropriation.
I crave your indulgence and would want you to assist me in ensuring that this deposit is dispatched to charity organizations, World HIV Aids programme in Africa and other humanitarian venture. I am willing to leave you 5% of the deposit for your time and effort on my behalf.
